Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead. - Louisa May Alcott
Welcome to Wahine World! This site is dedicated to the Wahine Surfer. Often thought of being a male sport women surfers are a major part of the surfing community and have been surfing since the sport began. You will find links to many other sites by, for and about women surfers. My main objective is to seek and find important and useful information for Wahines, both legends and grommets in their own mind. My desire is for this section to be a one stop location to find everything that Wahines need and want. Your help in directing me to links and information will always be welcome and appreciated. I hope you enjoy your visit, please use the comments form below to let us know what you would like to see nore of here. Also if you have or know of any sites that should be listed here you can use the form to send them to us.
Hosted and maintained by it's parent site Rippinh2O, this section was created by the daughter of the co-founder and webmaster. Going by the handle of lightwavegirl (derived from her board), she has since relocated to the midwest. There ain't no surf in Kansas Toto!
I have completly rebuilt this site with a new look and feel keeping most of the original content with some new additions.
I believe women play an important role in the surfing community and deserve a site with information just for them, so any help you ladies can offer will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for droppin' in. - Sitedude
Inside you will find information for the beginning surfer about safety, rules and etiquette. The links page has a lot of great sites listed, anything from surf shops just for women to women surfer personal web sites. There is a form on the page to submit a link to be added. A brief commentary on the origin of women surfers and a link to more history on the subject. The Events page has a listing of upcoming surf events and is updated on a regular basis. You can have your surf related event added using the form on the page. The photo gallery is for surf shots or anything related to surfing and women. It only takes a couple of steps to add your own to the gallery.
